Words are powerful. Words sway.
Even untruthful words can sound convincing.
Clear your head.
Look carefully at one’s actions.
Is it consistent with his/her words?
If your “loved” one is going through a difficult phase in his/her life, what is your first reaction?
You scream “you’re just not giving me the love and warmth and happiness I need!” and desert him/her?
Or
You listen to his/her difficulties and try your best to help, walking through the difficult phase with him/her?
If your “loved” one is covered in filth, what is your first reaction?
You scream “you’re so disgusting!” and kick him/her away like a ball?
Or
You clean him up and stay beside him/her, caring and helping until he/she recovers?
Can one claim to love someone if they take the first course of action in both of the above? Interestingly enough, there do exist some people who do not seem to realize their words are not consistent with their actions. And of course, there are some who play with words intentionally for personal gain (whether it is short term or long term).
